From our very beginning, The Friends of the Bargello are dedicated to setting out an engaging list of initiatives to help encourage membership, reward commitment and stimulate learning and looking at the collections of the Bargello, as well as the myriad of churches, palazzos and private collections that fill Florence.
Based on membership level, this list encompasses what is currently offered to our valued contributors.
A unique and exclusive opportunity for Founding Patrons to reserve the museum space for a private party. (Certain restrictions will apply, and details will be outlined in full by the FoB office.)
Behind Closed Doors
An itinerary developed on a bespoke basis for small groups within the Founding Patron and Patron band of membership. Together with the Patron, the office of the FoB will facilitate and schedule opportunities for viewing private collections in and around Florence not open to the general public, hosted dinners within private palazzos, and personalized lectures by respected art historians and curators within the iconic churches of Florence.
Once a year the curators of the Bargello will organise directed object handling sessions at the Bargello in an area of targeted interest; including the important collections of bronzes, majolica and early ivory.
Seminars & Lecture Series
Open to all levels of membership, the FoB is dedicated to hosting various lectures and seminars at the museum, or in London and New York. Details of such educational events will be updated in advance on the FoB web site.
A schedule of directed events in various locations will be outlined at the start of each year and provide the opportunity to meet and socialise with other members of the FoB.
All membership levels will receive, via email, a copy of our bi-annual Newsletter which will include updated information and progression reports on the various projects financed by the FoB at the Bargello, as well as links to related research projects and current exhibitions world-wide that echo and emphasise the collections of the Bargello and the mission of the FoB.
